The Project

The artist Rembrandt got known throughout the whole world after his death and made an early impression on the Dutch pop-art artist Johan Huijzer. This gave Johan Huijzer an idea for an unusual project. Together with Green Real Estate, Art & Marketing and ROC Leiden a very unique art project will be launched. The project shall feature artist Johan Huijzer who will repaint "The Night Watch" in the same arrangement, but now in a modern style (Pop Art). The painting will have the same dimensions as the original. There will be much media attention for it and we expect it to be a huge success. The making of the painting will take place in "De Nieuwe Energie" in Leiden. A beautiful building in the heart of Leiden (the birthplace of Rembrandt) which has been restored recently. This building shall make for a remarkable entourage.
